The Lamplighter XXIII Print
from $75.00
Limited edition giclée print of The Lamplighter XXIII from The Jobs of Yesteryear Series.
Before the widespread use of electricity, streets of most towns and cities were lit by gas lamps. These lamps had to be lit as dusk turned to dark and extinguished as the day’s light filled the morning sky. The Lamplighter was responsible for these tasks and typically employed either a long pole, ladder or tall, custom-built bicycle.
