After water and tea, beer is the most consumed beverage in the world and the folks who brew it have always held a special place in my heart. Studying the history of breweries is fascinating and much of it revolves around how we package beer. The ability to bottle and ship beer far from where it was brewed allowed the big breweries of the 20th century to dominate the market after taking over hundreds of small town breweries that had previously kept the beer flowing locally back when beer didn’t travel well. Nowadays, the trend has reversed as the microbrewery movement has reinvigorated our love of local brew and the creativity in brewing has exploded. Cheers to that!

Each original painting is created on stained wood panel using acrylic paint. The limited color palette gives the work a historic feel. The long-limbed characters are crafted using paper and then painted.
