The Bookseller Print

from $195.00

Limited edition giclée print of The Bookseller from The Jobs of Yesteryear Series.

The selling of books dates back to ancient times when the first libraries were established around 300 B.C. Personal libraries have been fashionable since the Romans and the businesses that help stock these libraries have been a vital fulcrum of information and ideas. This painting is based on a 76-year-old bookseller who still operates in Rabat, Morocco. he never locks his books up at night because he believes that those who can't read won't steal books, and those who can aren't thieves. Bookselling has largely moved online with the most prevalent source being Amazon.
