Limited edition giclée print of The Fireman from The Jobs of Yesteryear Series. Printed on acid-free paper with archival inks and finished with a standard size white mat with the option to add a high-quality black frame. The Jobs of Yesteryear are thought-provoking conversation pieces that will bring an air of history and whimsy to any room.

Firefighting has changed drastically over the years, from a line of villagers passing buckets to the sleek and powerful machines that scream down today's streets. The Fireman captures one aspect of that evoluation by depicting an old handtub being pumped by hand and feeding water into the hose held steady by the fireman in the foreground. A fire hydrant sits silently near, a subtle inclusion to show how the advent of fire hydrants in the early 1800s greatly improved the ability of these brave men and women to fight fires.

Each original painting is created on stained wood panel using acrylic paint. The limited color palette gives the work a historic feel. The long limbed characters are crafted using hundreds of hand-torn bits of kraft paper collaged on top of watercolor paper and painted with an acrylic wash. The painting includes details showing how the firefighting job has changed over the years.
